The world of Land
Grab TM is an ever-changing, perpetual world that may be
interacted in by hundreds of players from around the world. When you
log out of the game, action in the world continues on! To make the
game balanced and fair for everyone, no other colonies are permitted to
attack or invade your colony while you are logged out. However, the
other colonies may continuing building and expanding their colonies by other
means while you are away.
THE COLONY REPORT:
Even
though your colony may not be attacked while you are logged out, there are
many things that will affect your colony while you are away. Each time
you log in, you will receive a Colony Report summarizing the most important
events that impacted your colony since you last logged in. Some of
these common events are described below:
LOYALTY, REVOLTS &
ABANDONMENT:
While you are logged out, the settlers in
your colony will miss their brave leader and will gradually become less and
less loyal. Your loyalty rating will slowly fall and eventually your
settlers will start to abandon your colony and your parcels will revolt.
Initially, the loyalty in your colony is 100%. Each day you do not
play the game, the loyalty will fall a random amount (typically a few
percent). When the loyalty falls to 95% or less, settlers may start
revolting. It happens very slowly at first but as your loyalty drops
lower, revolts happen faster and faster.
After about a
month of not playing, your entire colony could be lost! When you login
and play, your loyalty will increase rapidly (about 1% every few minutes).
So even playing for short periods of time every few days will maintain the
loyalty in your colony. At any time, you can click on the STATISTICS
button to see the current loyalty in your colony.
TORNADOS & OTHER
NATURAL DISASTERS:
While you are logged out, tornados and other natural disasters may strike
the lands where you have built your colony causing settlers to be lost and
structures you have built to be destroyed!
SPYS:
While you are logged out, other colonies
may spy on you! Any parcel of land, expedition or ship that can be
reached by other colonies (ie. is not surrounded by a fence or wall) may be
spied on. Spying will allow your opponents to discover important
information about your colony including which land produces valuable
resources, how many settlers are defending a parcel, and other useful
information. When you log back in, your enemies may use this
information against you to mount an invasion of your lands. They could
know where your weaknesses are, where your most valuable land is located,
and which parcels you may have left undefended. The good news is that
you may capture or kill their spies and you may also spy on them!
LAND AND SEA MINES:
While you are logged out, other colonies
that are trespassing on your lands may step on (or sail over) a land or sea
mine that you planted! Mines are an excellent defense even when you
are logged out since trespassers could be damaged or wiped out by your
hidden mines! See Gunpowder and Land/Sea Mines
for more information.
TRADING POSTS,
STORES AND LAND SALES:
If you have built any trading posts or
stores, or put any land up for sale, other colonies can buy or sell even
when you are logged off. Your revenues will be reported to you on your
Colony Report when you login.
STOCK
HOLDINGS & DIVIDENDS:
If you are holding stocks purchased from
the Stock Broker in town, these stocks will continue to change in price
constantly, even while you are logged out. If the stocks pay
dividends, you will receive these dividends on a daily basis even if you are
not logged in.
TELEGRAMS:
Other
colonies can send you telegrams or leave messages for you while you are
logged off. When you login, your Colony Report will inform you of the
number of telegrams waiting for you. You can then click on the
TELEGRAM button to receive each telegram, one-by-one.
RANK:
Your rank in
the game is constantly changing even while you are logged off. Other
colonies may move up and down in rank which affects your rank. When
you login, your current rank will be shown. While playing, you can
also click on the STATISTICS button to see your current Rank.
