Gunpowder is a rare but powerful resource found only in the mountains.
Gunpowder can be used to build land mines or sea mines that can be placed on
parcels you own to destroy intruders. You and your allies may safely
travel across parcels containing a mine you placed, but all others will set
it off causing substantial damage.
HOW TO CREATE A LAND OR
SEA MINE:
To create a mine, you must be
holding some gunpowder. Then right click on a parcel you own and
choose BURY LAND MINE (for land parcels) or RELEASE SEA MINE (for water
parcels). It will then ask how much gunpowder to use. You can
use as much as you want. The more you use, the more damage will be
done and in a wider range as shown in the charts below:
RANGE OF MINES:

DAMAGE BY MINES:

Expeditions/Ships on same parcel where mine was PLUS 1-99% of settlers
on expeditions/ships within a range of 1 parcel |
200 |
ALL
settlers in ALL Expeditions/Ships on ALL parcels within 1 parcel of
where the mine was. |
Over

(Same
pattern but range keeps expanding) |
MISC NOTES:
1) If fewer than 10 settlers
cross a parcel that has mine on it, there is a chance they may not set the
mine off. The fewer the settlers, the less likely the mine goes off.
If 10 or more settlers cross a parcel with a mine, the mine will always go
off.
